These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website of the Society of Communications Technology Consultants International, Inc. (SCTC) at https://www.sctcconsultants.org/ (the "Website"), as well as your participation in SCTC's services, programs, and activities (collectively, the "Services"). SCTC is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting independent communications technology consultants through professional growth, networking, and collaboration opportunities.
By accessing the Website, applying for or maintaining membership, participating in events, surveys, or any other Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. SCTC provides the following non-commercial Services to eligible members:
- Membership Programs: Including Consultant Membership and Vendor Advisory Council (VAC) participation, which offer access to networking, educational resources, events, webinars, and conferences.
- Events and Networking: Opportunities for professional collaboration, such as in-person or virtual conferences, webinars, and member directories.
- Communications: Newsletters, invitations, surveys for feedback, and time-sensitive SMS notifications (e.g., event reminders or urgent updates).
- Website Access: Public information about SCTC, membership applications, and members-only resources.
All Services are provided on a non-profit basis and are subject to availability. SCTC does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Website or Services.
Eligibility and Membership
To participate in SCTC's membership programs or Services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
- Meet the professional qualifications for Consultant or VAC membership as determined by SCTC.
- Provide accurate information during registration and agree to these Terms.
Membership is granted at SCTC's discretion and may be terminated for violations of these Terms or non-payment of dues (if applicable). Dues, if any, are non-refundable except as specified in our membership guidelines.
User Conduct and Responsibilities
When using the Website or Services, you agree to:

- Not engage in any activity that could harm SCTC, its members, or third parties, including but not limited to:

Surveys and SMS Communications
- Surveys: Participation in surveys is voluntary and intended to gather feedback to improve SCTC programs. Responses may be anonymized and used internally. By submitting a survey, you grant SCTC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your responses for non-commercial purposes.
- SMS: By providing your phone number during registration, you consent to receive limited SMS messages for SCTC-related communications. You may opt out at any time by replying "STOP" to any SMS or contacting us at sctchq@sctcconsultants.org. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Website, including text, graphics, logos, and materials (collectively, "Content"), is owned by SCTC or its licensors and protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Content without prior written permission from SCTC, except for personal, non-commercial use in connection with your membership.
Members grant SCTC a limited, non-exclusive license to use their name, likeness, and professional credentials in member directories, promotional materials, and event recaps, subject to the Privacy Policy.

These are provided for convenience only, and SCTC is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Disclaimers

As a non-profit, SCTC provides professional networking and educational opportunities but does not offer professional advice, endorsements, or guarantees regarding business outcomes from participation.
Limitation of Liability

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. For members in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, we comply with applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) as detailed in our Privacy Policy, but these Terms are subject to New York law as specified.
Termination
SCTC may terminate or suspend your access to the Website or Services at any time, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately, and you must destroy any downloaded Content.
Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SCTC.
- Severability: If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in effect.
- No Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
- Force Majeure: SCTC is not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond its control (e.g., natural disasters, strikes).
